MEET Señora Thornton
Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Betty Thornton is a native Spanish speaker. She graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio and continued to earn her state certification in teaching Spanish.
With over 22 years in teaching Spanish, she has had the opportunity to teach Spanish levels 1,2,3, and 4 as well as teach both elementary students and conversational Spanish to adults. Additionally, she is well-versed in both the Keystone Homeschooling and Texas Tech 2 curriculum.

Betty has played a key role in developing the curriculum for her department multiple times and has led teams in the Pan-American Spanish competition to 5 gold medals. She has turned numerous failing students into A students through her patience, understanding, and ability to communicate effectively.

She specializes in online Spanish tutoring, conversational Spanish, and in-home Spanish tutoring in Collin County, TX. Her online Spanish courses can be accessed anywhere in the country via Zoom and Google Meet.
